Electric Vehicle

The Nepalese EV market finally sees its first electric pickup truck, after the positive popularity with electric passenger cars, commercial vehicles and SUVs. Nepal brings in the JAC e-T8, an electric version to JAC motor’s T8 pickup truck. This pickup EV is launched through ‘theeGO’, whose mission aims to transition sustainable transportation and innovate a zero carbon emission system. The T8’s design is based off of JAC motor’s eighth-generation international platform, offering greater stability, safety and comfort, all of which fits well to the requirements of driving in Nepal’s off-road geography.

Features Highlights

The JAC e-T8 covers a good mileage ranging 300km (endurance) up to 350km (extended) in a single charge. It has ground clearance of 197 mm, and a turnaround radius of 7 meters. JAC e-T8 has a 67.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, that can be fully charged in 2 hours (DC Charging), and/or 16.5 hours (AC Charging). It generates max power of 110kW and max torque of 330 Nm, which is powered by a Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSm). With a electro-hydraulic power steering accelerating to a maximum speed of up to 90 Kmph, it also includes advanced features like regenerative braking and brake override.

It is a road stronghold, and a workhorse designed with style to travel long-distance and off-road terrains in Nepal. The e-T8 allegedly consumes 70 units of total electricity in a single charge, which would be an estimated cost of around Rs. 350-400.
