Electric Vehicle

The latest debuting EV, the Hozon NETA V, is not as bad of an EV that it is being painted out to be. Its pricing originally in home grounds are fairly reasonable ( ranging from 59.9k - 120.8k yuan i.e. 10.9 lakhs-22.3 lakhs nrs before tax). Amidst the recent increase in the annual budget, EVs below 100 kW seem to be a favorable option for economic drivers whereas vehicles above 100 kW need to be purchased after long thoughts and research due to the increased tax rate. Funny enough, the NETA V is not affected by this new agenda yet it is quite the expensive EV. The ‘ridiculous’ pricing slapped on the brand NETA V is fit to be called a ‘victim’ of Nepal’s import-delaer politics, which many people agree on. We can agree that what baffles the public is not the brand, nor the vehicle, neither the price after adding taxes (import, customs, VAT, etc.), but the final price set by its importer at Nrs. 37,99,999. This has lead EV enthusiasts to believe that ‘boycotting’ the sales of NETA V would be the appropriate action to shake the government and CG motors for this atrocity.

Taking a break from the budget-tax-importer game involved in the EV industry, Hozon Auto is an EV exclusive manufacturing company with their vision in mind being, electric is the future’s ‘new energy’. Hozon has produced an EV that is qualitative, reliable and gives good value for its ‘price’. If you’re interested, you can also read about its specification details on our other blog about NETA V. NETA V is a pure electric crossover, a sub-compact SUV. Hozon Auto offers the NETA V EV in 2 different range versions of 301km and 401km, with 11 variants (in China). It is powered by two different e-motor with max power of 40kW and 55kW, respectively. This EV is built on EV platform which is very crucial, which means that they are much lighter and naturally more efficient. Looking into NETA V’s features, it provides a longer range that eliminates range anxiety (considering the fact that it is CATL Lithium battery, which is a plus point).

It is equipped with H-EPT 3.0 Thermostatic Battery Management system setting active cooling for high and low-temperature heating, and thermal management, allowing the battery to work at its best, prolonging battery’s state of health and extending range, especially in the winter. It also includes an ESC body stability system, enabling to maintain a neutral asset in rapid turns, avoid understeer and oversteer, and increase vehicle safety and handling, increasing overall safety. It offers All Disc Brake and Hill Assist & Hill Descent, making the drive safe, easy, efficient and in control. Honorable mentions are the V2L for emergency external power source, Auto Headlights, and the 14.6" tab adding modern finesse to navigation and driver control. Additionally you get a 6.6 kW charger for free with its purchase.

Liking the external appearance of the NETA V is a personal choice of the buyer, however looking into its features and functionality, this EV offers so much more. If we were to overlook the overpriced price tag on the EV, its original price makes it quite the catch returning its value for the money. If the price after Nepal’s tax and dealer profit wasn’t as much as it is now, would you consider NETA V EV into your drive list?
