Hyundai IONIQ 5 is one of the most anticipated new models this year, EV or not, and it does not disappoint now that it is available in Nepal. The all-wheel-drive Hyundai Ioniq 5 manages a solid EPA-estimated 256 miles of range with its 77.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack. The Bagmati state government has imposed a new measure for upcoming new taxis to be electrical taxi. The new criteria is set or two types: 'Ordinary' e-taxis and 'Deluxe' e-taxis. Depending on these two types of electric taxis, including previous regular taxis, the government has plans to fix the taxi fares at different rates. The government has arranged for old taxis as old as 20-year-old to be compulsorily converted into an electric one, and new taxis to electric only.

The Nepal Government has granted permission for fuel-based vehicles to be converted into electric vehicles (EV). The amended law has been set to allow fuel-based vehicles to be replaced into electric within three years with tax exemption. As of recent, the practice of ‘retrofitting’ vehicles on the global market is already in vogue. It plays a big role in increasing environmental or energy consumption for vehicles and creating zero carbon emissions.
